In the heart of the magnificent Center Var region, nestled among the hills and
vineyards, there is a wine estate steeped in history and passion. HAS
Originally, this land was the farm adjoining a castle, testifying to a
past rich in history. Its name, “Domaine de La Croix de Bontar,” evokes the
goodness of this fertile land which has survived the ages. The Wine Estate of
the Segond Family, preserving a family tradition of more than 30 years, is a
wine treasure that embodies the soul of Provence.
With its 35 hectares of vines, the Domaine de La Croix de Bontar captures
thus the richness and diversity of the region's terroirs.
This year marks an important milestone in the history of the estate, with the
completion of the third harvest, followed by the very first bottling
in limited quantities, greeted with resounding success.
The Domaine is committed to a transition towards organic farming,
favoring environmentally friendly methods. Winemaking
takes place entirely on site, in a new cellar, thus guaranteeing
absolute control over the quality of the wine throughout the production process.
The notable investment in the restoration of the vines has brought new life to
picturesque dry stone walls and recommissioned a historic well
for natural irrigation. The result is a preserved and authentic terroir.
The wines of Domaine de l Croix de Bontar are already present in several
renowned restaurants in the principality and surrounding areas, including Norma,
Chez Pierre and the African Queen, and new establishments join
this ever-expanding list.
